Troubles....

This last week part of what I preached was how we view our troubles. What if God allows troubles to come our way to grow us into the people that He wants us to be. What would happen if we viewed troubles as opportunities to see God work? I believe that miracles were not just for Bible times, but also for today.

Mark Batterson says this "Too often our prayers revolve around asking god to reduce the odds in our lives. We want everything in our favor, but maybe God wants to stack the odds against us so we can experience a miracle of divine proportions. Maybe faith is trusting God no matter how impossible the odds are. Maybe our impossible situations are opportunities to experience a new dimension of God's glory."

What trouble are you facing right now? Instead of praying to ask God to take the trouble away, try asking God for a miracle! What do you think? Talk to me.....

Tomorrow morning we go to see Jerry's cardiologist to find out the results of the tests he's just been through. We're praying that the problem will be resolved one way or the other. I believe in miracles...I've experienced miracles but sometimes the miracle comes through the care and expertise of our doctors. The problem just being detected may be the miracle here. There are other kinds of miracles too so hopefully you'll get more feed back from other folks. Love you. AGA

We always seem to think we know ourselves and our circumstances better than anyone else, therefore, we must know best how our trials should be resolved and our prayers are biased to that end. However, we forget that God knows us even better than we know ourselves. And he sees all from a viewpoint we can't even begin to imagine -- across dimensions we cannot fathom. He, alone, knows what is best (for everyone, not just me!) and He loves us beyond our comprehension as well. Even through some of the most treacherous circumstances (some of which I've personally experienced), God can create a masterpiece! He is so deserving of our trust. -- Laura
