Church Bulletin Bloopers

You may have seen these before through the emails circulating, but many of them made me laugh out loud, so I thought I would share them here....enjoy!!! The Fasting & Prayer Conference includes meals. The sermon this morning: "Jesus Walks on the Water." The sermon tonight: "Searching For Jesus." Our youth basketball team is back in action Wednesday at 8 PM in the recreation hall. Come out and watch us kill Christ the King. Ladies, don't forget the rummage sale. It's a chance to get rid of those things not worth keeping around the house. Bring your husbands. The peacemaking meeting scheduled for today has been cancelled due to a conflict. Remember in prayer the many who are sick of our community. Smile at someone who is hard to love. Say "Hell" to someone who doesn't care much about you. Don't let worry kill you off -- let the Church help. Miss Charlene Mason sang "I Will Not Pass This Way Again," giving obvious pleasure to the

Troubles....

Image
This last week part of what I preached was how we view our troubles. What if God allows troubles to come our way to grow us into the people that He wants us to be. What would happen if we viewed troubles as opportunities to see God work? I believe that miracles were not just for Bible times, but also for today. Mark Batterson says this "Too often our prayers revolve around asking god to reduce the odds in our lives. We want everything in our favor, but maybe God wants to stack the odds against us so we can experience a miracle of divine proportions. Maybe faith is trusting God no matter how impossible the odds are. Maybe our impossible situations are opportunities to experience a new dimension of God's glory." What trouble are you facing right now? Instead of praying to ask God to take the trouble away, try asking God for a miracle! What do you think? Talk to me.....

IN THE NEWS...updated

My friend, Mark Wilson , posted a video of the story I shared with you earlier. Just thought you might be interested in hearing more of the story....

IN THE NEWS.......

I can only take so much of the news and then I get depressed. There is so much that they report that is negative, but HERE is a story of great proportions. It lifts your spirits and makes you wish they reported MORE stuff like this.....and that more people acted like this. Note who carried this girl around the bases.......Check it out!

Blogging and Life

I keep telling myself that I am going to be more consistent in my blogging, but it seems I can't seem to get into that groove. BUT...I will continue working on it. This week we have been getting ready for our garage sale. Yesterday was the first day of the sale and things went well. I had lots of traffic, despite the rainy weather. We did have to close early due to the rain. It is sunny so far this morning and I am hoping for a bright, sunny day today. Tonight we will have a new couple in the church over for dinner. We are excited to get to know some new friends. I am looking forward to a great day!
